In this day and age, marriage is no longer an unavoidable institution. People sometimes marry as quickly as they divorce. Marriage is mixed, heterosexual, or, more recently homosexual, and it is no longer bound to be for life. The image of the couple and the family has evolved. Religious faith in all its forms no longer dominates the commitment. The union of “Until death do us part” is less common.
